Welcome to D'Capo's Blog Page
Just 2 weeks until D'Capo's first concert in 2025. Saturday 29th March at 7pm in Becket's Chapel, Wymondham. Join us for a lovely evening of choral and piano music, and a glass of wine!
Rehearsals for D'Capo are going really well in 2025. We have two spring concerts in our diary so far, so plenty of music to prepare for. Watch this space for more updates, and check our 2025 calendar.
So, D'Capo ended a very successful 2024 having performed at 16 events, raising £1,000 for East Anglia's Children's Hospices, as well as helping other concert organisers raise nearly £7,000 at the events we sang at. We're looking forward to 2025 having successful events too!
24 December - Barnham Broom Country Club. D'Capo has sung here on Christmas Eve for 10 years, for visitors gathering before eating their festive evening meal. We love this event - and can then relax after our busy December.
22nd December - Carleton Forehoe Church carol service. A little church with no electricity, so lit with candles and oil lamps which create such a special atmosphere. We sang part of Hodie, then In Dulci Jubilo, and Still Still Still.
18th December - Reymerston Hall. The local audience enjoyed the evening, joining in with the more well-known pieces and carols.
14th December - The Goat Shed Honingham. D'Capo's annual Christmas visit was a great festive time for us, and visitors happily joining in with many of the Christmas music we sang.
13th December - Wramplingham Church carol service. The church was full, with a warm welcome for all. D'Capo sang 3 pieces The Little Road to Bethlehem, Mary did you know, John Rutter's Star Carol, and our barbershop group sang their version of Silent Night.
8th December - Barford Church. Our first carol service this year, and the congregation enjoyed it as much as we did. Our individual Christmas pieces were John Rutter's Angels' Carol, The Little Road to Bethlehem, and Gardner's The Holly and The Ivy
6th December - Concert for the Good Companions in Costessey. We had a very receptive and hospitable audience, and we enjoyed this start to Christmas festivities.
19th October - Concert at Barford Church celebrating the Group of 15 Churches' 60th Anniversary. Despite reduced choir numbers due to illness, the audience enjoyed our very varied programme ranging from Mozart to The Lord of the Rings!
12th October - "The Beatles to The Barbershop" - a really enjoyable evening, raising funds for Forncett St. Peter Church. A superb £850 was raised for the restoration fund.
5th October - Vintage Fair & Open Day, Reymerston - another busy event, with lots of stalls and other live music in beautiful surroundings. We hope the visitors enjoyed our singing!
22nd September - Wellbeing & Spiritual Fair, Wymondham - D'Capo was glad to add to the atmosphere for this busy event with lots of stalls, talks and demonstrations. All proceeds were for Break, the charity supporting vulnerable children, young people and families in East Anglia through therapeutic services and respite breaks.
31st August - Cambridgeshire Wedding - The wedding couple chose music ranging from around the year 1700 to 2000. We enjoyed singing this wide variety of music, and had many compliments afterwards.

16th June - D'Capo's Summer Concert at Reymerston Hall - We had a fabulous evening at D'Capo's summer concert, and the sun even came out for us all! Our programme for the evening was light and varied and the audience were very complimentary about it. D'Capo organised this concert in aid of East Anglia's Children's Hospices, and thrilled to raise £1,000 for EACH. Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us for such a wonderful cause.

6th June 2024 - Little Lifts Charity Fashion Show at John Lewis - D'Capo choir loved providing live music for this emotional and inspiring fashion show raised an amazing £6,000 for Little Lifts' work. There were nearly 300 guests, and 19 inspiring models, all with their own experiences of breast cancer. Thanks must go to everyone who encouraged, supported, created a wonderful atmosphere and raised this amount.
